Two UTPA students in the REU program traveled out to Boston to the annual Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology meeting to present their REU research.

Boston, for me, was a thrilling experience. Just the mere fact that I was able to watch these accomplished scientists present their work was amazing. Aside from that I even had the privilege of meeting many of them face to face, and after it was all said and done I realized that they are just regular people like me. It gives me a boost of confidence that I think will help propel me forward with my research, now understanding that no one knows everything, we just take it one step at a time.
